Madheswaran Jeyapal, Senior Operations Manager for Global Cloud Organization, moved from India to Denver, Colorado in 2019. He plays less cricket now but has embraced badminton. Q: What’s your role at Envision?
As Senior Operations Manager for Envision's Global Cloud Organization since 2014, I've been integral to Envision’s Platform as a Service offering (“PaaS”) . My day-to-day work involves application delivery, infrastructure management, information security strategies, service assurance and financial oversight. I am supported by U.S. and India based teams.
For effective implementation of any client solution, it is essential that my team incorporates Software as a Service (“SaaS”) in addition to Platform as a Service (“PaaS”). Without this crucial addition, the successful execution of any client solution would not be possible. I’m very proud to lead a team who deliver a 24x7, highly available, and highly performant solution to our valued clients.
Q: What has your career path looked like?
I started in 1998 as a software developer in healthcare then joined Envision in 2004 as a Senior Software Engineer based in India. After a brief stint at Cognizant in 2005—which gave me insights into managing large teams and handling project uncertainties—I returned to Envision and advanced into roles including Project Leader, Manager of Software Engineering and Production Operations Manager.
In 2019, my family and I moved to the U.S. when I was offered the opportunity to serve in my current role. My trajectory has been a highly rewarding one with ongoing learning and challenge.
Q: In your work with Envision’s clients, what are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of how we serve clients in the areas of security, transparency and meeting service-level commitments. Just as important, I’m proud of how we build rapport with them.
In a broader sense, I’m immensely proud of the team I work with and the dedication and pride they take in ensuring smooth day-to-day client operations in Envision hosted platform.
Q: What’s an interesting question you’re asked in your work?
“How exactly do you keep investor data secure?”
There is no silver bullet. Rather the answer to that question is multi-layered. We follow industry-based security policies, standards and practices. Additionally, we conduct audits to ensure that these measures are effectively implemented. From a practical perspective, this implies we bring controls related to people, physical data centers, application & technology, security measures, networks, data encryption technologies & methods, testing and monitoring processes, ensuring all collaborate in unison.
Q: What advice would you give someone starting a career in your specific field?
Focus on building a solid technical foundation, stay updated with industry trends, gain practical experience and network actively with professionals. Embrace learning opportunities and stay adaptable.
Q: What hobby or pastime do you enjoy away from work?
Outside of work, I have a deep passion for cricket. It's not just about the game; it's the joy, the life lessons, the friendships, and the rich history of the sport that captivate me. Cricket has been a significant source of happiness and fulfillment in my life.
Since moving to Denver, I've also taken up badminton. It's a great way to stay active and offers a bit of variety alongside my long-standing love for cricket.
Apart from sports, spending quality time with my family and friends is very important to me. These moments are invaluable, nurturing the bonds we share.
Additionally, music from the 1990s, especially Indian tunes, is a significant stress reliever for me.
